A Special Mention has been assigned to IRPI by the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) “in order to acknowledge the role and importance of this newly established centre promoting investigative reporting carried out by Italian journalists mostly cooperating with world-wide investigative networks“.
The recognition of Investigative Reporting Project Italy‘s work was announced together with the names of the winners of the “CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism 2013“. They are the Bosnian-Herzegovinian reporter Mahir Šahinović who receives the award in the section “Professional Journalists”, and Bulgarian Rosen Tsvetkov for the section “Young Professional Journalists”.
Thus, at the awarding ceremony in occasion of the South East Europe Media Forum to be held in Sarajevo on 7-8 October 2013, in addition to Mahir Šahinović and Rosen Tsvetkov, also IRPI will be present to receive a diploma from CEI and SEEMO.
Winners were chosen among the 41 nominations arrived from 11 countries by the three organising institutions, with overall coordination by Oliver Vujovic (SEEMO), Barbara Fabro (CEI) and Christian Spahr (KAS Media Program South East Europe), and the expert advice of the investigative reporter Saša Leković (Zagreb, Croatia).
The Award is organised in special partnership with the German political foundation Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).
